Fujiwara family

I have visited the Heian for the first time, it was a different experience out of the others i went. I visited there during the The Heian Period. In the history of Japan its often referred to as “the golden age.” It lasted from the 9th through the 12th centuries and preceded the medieval era of shoguns and samurai.
The capital of Japan was Heian Kyo, the modern Kyoto. Founded in 794, it remained the capital until the 13th century and the seat of the emperor until 1869. The capital was very similar to the great Chinese capitals like Chang-An, and followed the Chinese beliefs. While walking around i saw that the The city itself was merely enclosed by a moat and ramparts. when i was eating the Heian people told me that People in the Heian Court typically ate only two meals, not three like we do now. Most meals often had mainly rice, with side dishes that had dried fish and vegetables.
